The Crystal Cabin Award Association has elected Lukas Kaestner as its new President.

Kaestner, who also serves as Head of Marketing, PR & Events at the Hamburg Aviation cluster network, and is a co-founder of the Sustainable Aero Lab, has been involved in the project management of the Awards since 2014, overseeing the marketing and communications strategy for the brand. He takes over the role from Ulf Weber, Managing Director of Hamburg Aviation.

The last two years have been proof for us that despite the woes of the pandemic, interest in passenger experience and air travel innovation has remained high on a global scale. Aviation is now at one of the most exciting points in its history, and we strive to remain at a forefront of the discussion”, says Lukas Kaestner.

By splitting the roles of CCA President and Managing Director of Hamburg Aviation, we have made sure that both networks receive a clearer and more transparent profile. Apart from this, the Crystal Cabin Awards will remain as tightly connected to Hamburg Aviation and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg as before, with both me and the City remaining in the Board of the Award Association”, adds Ulf Weber, Managing Director of Hamburg Aviation.

The winners of the current Crystal Cabin Award season, comprised of two special categories – “Clean & Safe Air Travel” as well as “Judges’ Choice Award” - will be awarded as part of the official AIX Virtual program, on Wednesday, 15 September, at 3.15pm CET.
